Admission Rules for B.Ed. Course under BSAEU for the Session 2024-2026
- Medium of instructions: Bengali/ English
- The B.Ed. programme shall be of duration of two academic sessions, which can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of admission to the programme (as per the BSAEU Regulations)
- Admission will be as per Govt. order no. 536-EDN(CS)/10 M-20/2015 dated 06/08/2024
- Total Seats: 50
The total numbers of seats are 50 (Deputed candidates 5% and the rest of the total are Fresher candidates).
If deputed seat lies vacant due to the unavailability of deputed candidates that will be filled by fresher candidates obeying the reservation rules. The candidates are requested to follow "Subject and Category wise Distribution of Seats" that will be uploaded later.
Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PH candidates shall be as per West Bengal Government rules.
A candidate may apply for B.Ed if only following conditions are fulfilled :-
In compliance with the NCTE norm
- Candidates should be Graduates in a school subject from a recognized University
- Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor's Degree (General)/or in the Master's Degree in School subjects are eligible to apply
- Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology with Science and/or Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are also eligible for admission.
Such candidates are required to enter the marks of B.E/ B. Tech. in the row of Honours/Major Degree. M.E. / M. Tech result (if any) will be entered in the Master’s Degree row.
- Relaxation (in compliance with Govt. Order) regarding above: Only for Fresher and
Deputed SC/ST Candidates 5% relaxation of marks in UG or PG level is permissible.

- i) Fresher candidates can apply as per Govt. Rules
- ii) The admission of Deputed Candidates is maintained by Govt. Rules
- iii) Teaching experience (applicable for deputed candidates only)
- iv) Deputed candidates having at least 1 year of experience in Govt. Aided,/ Govt. Sponsored Schools can apply
- v) Deputed candidates must produce original MC/GB Permission, Approval, and NOC at the time of Counseling.
At the time of Registration (Online) Candidates should upload following documents :-
- Recent Color Passport Photograph (size 20 KB to 50 KB)
- Scanned copy of Signature
- Scanned copy of Birth/Age-Proof Certificate
- Scanned copies of all the academic Mark Sheets
- Scanned copies of Caste Certificate and PH. Certificate (If Applicable)
- All the Service Documents (for Deputed / In service Teacher only): SSC Recommendation, MC Resolution, Copy of the Approval from D.I. of Schools.

School subjects of teaching offered are those which have been stated in the New Curriculum of WBUTTEPA, the affiliating university)

Available infrastructure allows offering method subjects as given below.

Note 3: Accordingly,
Fresher Candidates must have an Honours degree in any of the abovementioned school subjects
Or
Fresher Candidates must have studied one of the above-mentioned school subjects with a minimum of 300 Marks as pass or Subsidiary subject in graduation level
- Example-1: If a candidate had History or Geography in the pass course while doing honors in Philosophy or Political Science and later have completed Post Graduate in Philosophy or Political Science then he/she will be eligible for History or Geography method and will be treated as a Pass Graduate. It is to be mentioned that the PG degree will not be considered here for scoring.
- Example-2: If a candidate had not studied History or Geography in the pass course while doing honors in Philosophy or Political Science and later completed Post Graduation in Philosophy or Political Science then he/she will not be able to apply for B. Ed. Admission to our college.
- Example-3: Example-3: If a candidate had not studied History or Geography in the pass course while doing honors in Philosophy or Political Science and then has done Post Graduate in History or Geography then he/she will be able to apply for B. Ed. Admission as pass graduate with PG.
Merit list:
- For fresher candidates, a merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on scoring
- For Deputed Candidates, a merit list will be prepared separately for each school subject based on length of service.
Entry of marks for Scoring
- M.P.: Put the aggregate of total marks (Best Five) excluding the additional subjects.
- H.S.: Calculate the aggregate of total marks (Best Four) including the additional subjects.
- Honours Graduates in school subject should enter the Honours marks only in the row of Bachelor's degree (Honours/ Major).
To get the full marks for Honours/Major subjects Or Pass Subjects, which is applicable, follow the information given on the back-side of the final mark sheet of UG level.
- In the case of General Graduates (i.e. candidates having graduated without Hons or equivalent), the total marks obtained in general subjects should be entered in the row of Bachelor’s degree (General).
- For candidates with less than 50% marks in the honours degree, the total marks of pass and Honours/ Major subjects will be considered. If it becomes 50% or more, that score will be entered in the Graduation (General) row. Such a candidate will be treated as a pass graduate.
- Candidates applying with CGPA/SGPA scores must submit supporting documents in respect of conversion from CGPA/SGPA score.
***Note: Candidates should carefully calculate the percentage of marks and scores against the percentage of marks obtained. Any mistake identified at any point during admission or even during the continuation of the programme may lead to the cancellation of candidature.

- ₹ 40,000/- for the second year (2025)
